Garden Story, which was released August 2021, has already won many casual gamers’ hearts. Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing lovers love the charming art style and soothing music. RPG-loving gamers also appreciate the similarities to Legend of Zelda titles, such as Link’s Awakening. Concord the grape’s adventures prove not only adorable but also vital for his community’s continued success.
Guardians are responsible for rebuilding, fighting against monsters, and completing favors to residents. This will require you to have special abilities. ToolsConcord was donated by friends and others in the community to help them on their journey.
10 Jar
The jar is your first tool when you start the game. It’s found in the tool shed at the Kindergarten. It can be used to collect Dew, which is what you use to water your Kindergarten Vine. Dew can also be used to heal wounds during combat. Although your jar initially holds only two drops, you can upgrade it to hold three. There are many types and functions to the Dew you can keep.
- Tap Dew: restores two hit points
- Sea Dew: restores four hit points, pushes away enemies
- Restore four hit points with Metallic Dew
- Grove Dew: restores 10 hit points
- Spicy Dew: restores two hit points, leaves a “feeling of heat”
9 Pick
Concord receives the pick as their first weapon in fighting the Rot that has overtaken the community. Granny Smith gives it after you leave Kindergarten. It can be used to fight enemies and mine valuable resources.
You will meet your first Rot enemies shortly after you get the pick. Keep an eye on your attack meter, though, because you can only swing twice before it’s depleted. You can upgrade your pick to do more damage. The pick is a great companion for beginners.
8 Hammer
Granny Smith can sell the hammer in Spring Hamlet. The hammer is an unusual weapon as it deals additional stomp damage when fully charged. It can also be upgraded at the forge.
Not unlike the hammer found in Super Smash Bros, it’s a favorite for some players because of its unique damage and appearance, compared to the other weapons found in the game.
7 Shield
A villager will give you a shield before you make your final request in Spring Hamlet. You will move slower while your shield is up than normal. Be sure to avoid any spores that are thrown at you.
Shields are a necessity in games such as Breath of Wild. Concord will be glad that they can protect their self-defense. There are many shields in-game, but many players prefer the Hazel Shield as the best.
6 Dowsing rod
Coqui, a local fisherman, will give you the Dowsing Rod once you reach Summer Bar. You can use it to fish for underwater items. It functions in the same way as other fishing rods.
Now that you have the Dowsing Rod, you’ll have to use it to find items for requests in the future. The Dowsing Rod is also useful for de-shelling Rots and solving various puzzles.
While you’re in Summer Bar, you’ll need to complete some Maintence Requests to fix the lighthouse. A villager named Fuji will give the Tool Box to you once you have reached Maintence Level 2.
With it, you can repair a variety of things across Concord’s world, but before you do that, you need to buy the Repair Box utility, which costs 20 wood, 20 stone and 20 Leaflets. There’s a wide variety of other utilities for your Tool Box that unlock as you progress.
4 Parasol
To get the parasol, visit the Visitors’ Center in Quiet Shore. There, you’ll meet Skimmer, who sends you to find Ceph to get a parasol.
Ceph will grant you the parasol upon completing a request. It is a brand-new weapon for Concord. If you take it to Pearl’s Forge, you can upgrade it to deal more damage and increase your attack speed for upcoming boss fights.
3 Sickle
Concord will arrive in Autumn Town after meeting Calabasa, an apple who will instruct them to gather Pith root to fix their sickle. Once you’ve gathered the materials, Kabosha will fix it and upgrade it for you
Concord now has a new weapon to fight against the Rot. An essential farmer’s tool, the sickle is helpful for sweeping attacks against the various enemies Concord encounters.
2 Gardening Spade
Lychee, an Autumn Town villager, will teach you how garden after your third boss battle. You’ll use the spade to dig spots to plant seeds. Gardening is a long-standing favorite game mechanic for more relaxed gamers.
Stardew Valley, Minecraft, and Farmville are all examples of virtual farmers who have enjoyed the ability to tend to their crops. Concord joins them as they plant fruits all around Autumn Town.
1 Silversword
Mandy is a Winter Glade villager who goes missing in the Mist. You’re tasked with finding her. After solving several puzzles, you will find her spirit in the woods with several others.
In a King Arthur-esque moment, she asks you to take the stem from her head and reveal it to be a sword. Her spirit takes possession of the sword and watches over Concord until the end.
