The new WORX® Nitro 80V Brushless Backpack Leaf Blower is entering its first fall season of quickly and efficiently rounding up leaves and other lawn debris. Base Camp is an optional powerpack that can be removed and combines four 20V 5.Ah PowerSharePRO batteries to deliver 80V power and performance. This power module can drive a blower and charge all four of the batteries using the supplied cord. It can also be used for powering other WORX80V tools, such as the WORX Nitro80V Self Propelled 21in. The blower’s brushless motor is controlled electronically, rather than with carbon brushes. It transfers power more efficiently and runs cooler. The brushless motor is 50% more efficient than comparable brushed motors, has 25% more power, and lasts 10% longer.
PowerShare PRO batteries offer superior power protection and runtime due to an intelligent battery management technology that incorporates cell cooling technology. Each battery’s cell is wrapped in thermoplastic to dissipate heat and maximize power and performance.
The backpack blower’s variable air control system allows you to blow leaves in small spaces or large areas. To quickly round up most leaves, move the nozzle to volume mode. To remove embedded or wet leaves, slide the nozzle backwards into high speed mode. Turbo mode can also be selected by holding down the trigger to increase the speed for moving extra-stubborn material.
The blower weighs in at 23.6 pounds, including the batteries. The blower is highly maneuverable due to its backpack design, and runs continuously for more than 3½ hrs. The lowest setting is the best. Its decibel rating is 83 dB, which is far lower than that of gas-operated models. The backpack blower is secured with padded shoulder straps, cinch-tied waistband and chest straps.
