Man asks for bolt cutters at Seattle Ace Hardware to snip chain off stolen bike – KIRO 7 News Seattle

A man was pulling a bicycle with a link through its back wheel. He stopped to ask a Seattle ACE Hardware employee if he could find bolt cutters Wednesday.

At around noon, the man was seen walking along the sidewalk holding onto the rear tire of the bike and pushing it towards the ACE Hardware on 4th Avenue.

The man stopped by the hardware shop and inquired about bolt cutters.

After the employee refused to comply, the man stood outside for approximately 10 minutes while building security personnel called the man.

Witnesses on the scene reported that the man stated that he purchased his bike yesterday.

After the man refused to leave, Seattle police were called.

After they were unable to identify the owner of the bike the police arrived and took it away.

A witness at the scene stated that the man wasn’t arrested.
