The home furnishing shop revealed its true identity “RH San Francisco, The Gallery”Thursday. (The company, which many associates with Restoration Hardware, was rebranded to RH in 2012. Five floors of showrooms can be found in the renovated Bethelem Steel Building at Pier 70 in Dogpatch. The mix of high-end retail and haute cuisine was inspired by San Francisco’s iconic Emporium.
“I remember growing up in San Francisco and my mom would take me to the Emporium department store downtown,”Gary Friedman, RH CEO C Magazine. “It was such a magical place, with multiple floors of shopping soaring up to the sky under this beautiful glass rotunda.”
Thursday’s soirée received the Vogue treatment. A reporter was there to note the celebrity guests: Jessica Alba (“in a yellow tweed mini dress by Rowen Rose”), Alex Daddario, Ellen DeGeneres, Portia De Rossi (“Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi effortlessly drew laughs from the revelers on the staircase of the beveled entryway”), and WarriorsSteve Kerr and his players Andre Iguodala & Otto Porter; Juan Toscano Andersen; and Chris Chiozza.

RH was founded in Eureka, 1978, and is headquartered in Corte Madera. The historic building was bought2016 at Illinois and 20th. It now boasts luxurious furniture showrooms and the Palm Court restaurant. It features palm trees and chandeliers in the bright atrium space.
